Photos from the year 2000
Removing snow from the driveway.
I just won the 2nd prize on Rumba (a Latin Dance) with Chili, my dance partner.
This was at the State University of New York, at Binghamton in February 2000.
Doing American Swing with
Chili at the MIT Ballroom Dance Competition in April 14-15, 2000.
We got the 1st prize at the newcomer level!
I had gone on a driving trip to Jodhpur and Jaisalmer in Rajasthan
(a state in the north west of India), with my sister and my brother in-law. Here we
are in Jaisalmer. On the left is Dr.Kishan Chauhan my brother in law, next to him is Seema,
my sister. In the middle is the "man with the longest moustache" in the world. In
the front is Vaibhav, my nephew. Jaisalmer is also known as the golden city because of the
yellow stone which is used to make buildings there. Notice the intricate carvings in the
buildings in the background.
On route to Jodhpur we had stopped for a little hike. Here I am climbing out of a
hole in the rocks. This was in September 2000.
Riding a camel in the Thar desert in Jaisalmer. We had camped in middle of the
desert on the sand. It was a one of a kind experience!
I had taken this photograph in the morning when the sun was rising. Probably one of
the best photos I've ever taken.
Waltz with Chili at the Harvard Beginners Ballroom Dance competition in October 2000.
After a Samba dance performance, with the rest of the Stony Brook
Ballroom team, for the Christmas Show at Knights
of Columbus, Patchogue.
